Why do we all buy in to the same ideals?
The whole idea of a society is to make things relatively achievable for the majority of people within it. There will always be the very rich, the very poor and the whole sub set or ‘middle classes’. I don’t think the term ‘class’ really has the same meaning these days, we seem to be in many ways a classless society. Class is reserved for the people who care about the meaning not the monetary value it was once equated with. People judge each other on what they have.
